9. HOW IS HCI CMD BEING PROCESSED?
THE GREAT SALT LAKE - The secret of HCI CMD lies in the brine of Great Salt Lake where the natural manufacturing happens. The lake covers some 6,000 sq km area and represents a terminal collection of drainage system covering an area of around 90,000 sq km of Rocky Mountains. The rocks and soils that comprise the drainage basin represent all major lithologies - igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary and cover the entire time span of Geological record - from Pre-Cambrian to the recent period. Consequently, the water in the Great Salt Lake contains all the elements present in the Periodic Table in dissolved, ionic form.
POND - The brine (water) in the lake is poured out into two acre ponds (232 acres of the pristine northern shoreline of the lake). As the brine concentrates through the passage of the natural seasons and weather of Utah, it is being transferred into smaller ponds. The brine is concentrated in the ponds for at least two years before it is transferred to evaporation tanks. As the brine becomes more saturated, sodium chloride crystallizes and precipitates out and around 99.5% of sodium is removed.
TANKS - Tanks in the storage plants accommodate at least 16,000 gallons each. They allow the brine to concentrate more while waiting for its testing and bottling.
TESTING - CMD goes through a strict process of testing of its purity and concentration. This is in compliance with MRI’s quality control and government standard to ensure potency, quality, and safety of the product.
FILTRATION - Brine (CMD) passes through dual filters before it is being bottled. All bottles have to pass the specification standards to avoid contaminations and reactions to ensure freshness and safety of the products.
BOTTLING - To ensure good quality of HCI CMD, bottling is done in a clean room to meet GMP (Good Manufacturing Process) standards.
LABELING AND SEALING STAGE - Every bottle passes through labeling with CMD Sticker and passes through a laser lot numbering system to imprint the exact batch of manufacturing and the releasing date. MRI keeps a sample of each batch of bottling.
SHRINK – The bottles are wrapped with plastic and sealed. A shrinking oven seals the CMD bottle.
